Description
Part 1 of a two (2) chapter experimental short film, which explores the underground 'Deep House' music genre. From 2000-2004, I wrote and directed a guerilla style, documentary interviewing 'Deep House' artists and asking the question... 'What is Deep House?'. The film is an attempt to further define the elements of distinction - that set 'Deep House' apart from other existing genres within the larger electronic music culture. It was all about asking questions and showing the culture.

I started this film in Los Angeles and then filmed in Miami. I was living on the West Coast, when I started and then I was on the east coast when it was finished. Traveling to Miami's winter music conference.. twice, over 3 years, driving back and forth to California multiple times. My friend Wil Driscoll I met when he edited this film. I met him through my father.
